What this test measures (and what it doesn't)
The first step to getting cited by an AI assistant is the cheapest to fix and the one almost nobody checks: that its bots can get into your site. Many stores block them by accident from robots.txt or the firewall.
It measures
- Whether the main AI bots have access to your site according to your robots.txt.
- Whether you have llms.txt (the map that serves your information to the model) and sitemap.xml.
- The difference between training bots and live-search bots (GPTBot trains; OAI-SearchBot resolves ChatGPT's searches right now).
It doesn't measure
- Whether they actually cite you today in each assistant, or who they cite instead. That's shown by a panel of real questions — it's part of the full diagnosis.
- Bing's index: measuring it from the outside isn't reliable, so we don't fake it.
Why it matters for a store
When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity "where do I buy X?", the assistant answers with the sites it could read and cite. If your bots are blocked, that recommendation will never be yours — and it won't show up in any Google report, because it's a separate channel.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes, and no sign-up. You paste the URL and see the result.
Some bots come up blocked, what do I do?
It's almost always fixed in robots.txt (a few lines) or in the firewall/CDN. If you want, Content Mood's full diagnosis tells you exactly what to change and prioritizes the rest of the work.
Does it work for any site?
The test works with any domain. Content Mood, the product, is only for online stores in Spanish, English or Portuguese.
